KEVIN BOLICK - GUITARS & VOCALS

Kevin Bolick is a veteran guitarist whose fiery, soulful style fuses Rock, Blues, and Americana with decades of road-tested authenticity and groove.

Originally from Western North Carolina, Kevin began playing guitar in the early 1990s and quickly built a reputation in the scene. He shared stages with British blues icon Kim Simmonds and Savoy Brown. In 1997, he earned selection as lead guitarist for the USAF’s Tops in Blue, the Air Force’s elite entertainment group, performing worldwide.

His mid-1990s band opened for the Derek Trucks Band, and in 2000, he headed to Los Angeles to front a blues outfit while gigging acoustic folk spots. A standout LA moment was sitting in with soul legend Billy Preston at BB King’s Blues Club at Universal CityWalk.

Back in Western North Carolina by late 2001, Kevin dove into the vibrant regional circuit with various bands and acoustic projects, including leading the blues-rock group The Ram Cats (based in Franklin, NC). They delivered high-energy shows across Western NC, North Georgia, and upstate South Carolina.

One of Kevin’s greatest personal triumphs came in 2005, when he was invited by Dickey Betts’ longtime friend and manager to play a benefit in Sarasota, Florida. After opening the show, Kevin delivered one of the finest blues solos of his life—an instrumental take on Stevie Ray Vaughan’s “Riviera Paradise”—with the legend himself seated just below the stage. Dickey Betts and his son Duane Betts (who had just joined his father’s Great Southern band that year) rushed up afterward, buzzing with excitement, to shake Kevin’s hand. The night culminated in Kevin joining them for a full set, a surreal, dream-come-true moment jamming with one of his earliest guitar heroes and his talented son.

Following a hiatus from professional playing, Kevin settled in Kansas City, Missouri in 2019. Now reignited, he’s bringing his veteran tone, blues edge, and versatility to Vinyl Revival, the KC area’s high-energy rock band celebrating deep ’70s and ‘80s grooves and classic vibes. His experience adds raw authenticity and fire to their live performances, bridging classic Southern influences with the band’s revival spirit.

From military tours and legendary sit-ins to blues clubs and rock revivals, Kevin Bolick’s guitar journey is one of passion, persistence, and pure feel. Catch him lighting up stages with Vinyl Revival
